The Žmergo Association is a non-governmental, non-party, non-profit and voluntary association of citizens for the protection of the natural and cultural heritage. It has been active on the Opatija Riviera for more than 25 years.
Named after the local name for grebe (a diving bird), this association organises various activities such as the Opatija Eco Fair, local youth programmes, the Zelena čistka environmental clean-up, the preservation of the Claustra historical Roman defensive wall, etc.
The Žmergo Association is ideal for everyone who wants to get to know the local natural and historical heritage.
