This year, RetrOpatija, the town’s favourite event, a kind of music and dance time machine taking visitors back to the golden decades of the 20th century, will fill the streets with good music, vintage fashions, cool dance rhythms and a great atmosphere, from 27 to 29 June. During these three days, every corner of Opatija will pulsate with retro energy, while the town’s suitably decorated bar and shop windows will provide the perfect backdrop for this event, which includes a retro fair, exhibitions of vintage cars and Vespas, dance performances, hairdresser services, and a disco party. In one moment, you will be part of the Roaring Twenties, the decade of beads, sequins and feathers, and the next you will have the chance to dance to the rhythms of rock’n’roll with a greaser hairstyle or shake your bell-bottoms to the hits of the Bee Gees. Our make-up artists, barbers and hairdressers will be at your disposal for a retro make-over according to your wishes, because at RetrOpatija, visitors also become part of the unique retro scenery.

The highlight of the three-day journey through the musical past will be a disco party under the starry sky at Opatija’s Open Air Theatre, the most beautiful outdoor stage in the Mediterranean. The older generations will have fun just like in the best days of the legendary disco clubs, and the younger ones will have the chance to experience first-hand the atmosphere of such dance parties.
